Domestic Fetish
This series investigates the nuances of fetish identity and the interconnections with daily life, the mundane. The notion that a persons kinks or fetishes must exist solely in the privacy of the bedroom has faded in the wake of de-stigmatisation, the embrace of personal expression, and the value of personal pride in the queer community.
For myself and my partner featured in these images, our identities that exist in the fetish community and that of our everyday life are not mutually exclusive. They exist as part of the whole that is a persons identity, merely they have different faces.
The process of creating scenes of mundane domestic life and intertwining that with the fetish element aims at challenging the idea that certain aspects of an individuals identity can only exist within parameters of time and place. They are always present even when we wear other faces, that identity is not gone.
